Combs Commencement
Jan 9th, 2008
This being the first month of a new year, I thought we’d take a fun look back at some of Jeff’s firsts in his film career.
Honky Tonk Freeway was Jeff’s very first movie. It’s an incredibly cute “screwball” comedy about a small town named Ticlaw and its quest to get an exit along the immense new freeway being built through Southern Florida.

Can you spot Jeff in this screencap?

Jeff plays a bank teller in Paducah, Kentucky who flirts with one of the main characters, Carmen (played by a very young Beverly D’Angelo).
My favorite line Jeff utters has to be, “You oughta see the inside of my car…it’s all tufted in velour…yup.”
Now that would make any woman swoon. ![]()

Although it’s only a fleeting glimpse of the twenty-six year old, it’s still a great treat to see Jeff at the very start of what would become such a rich and wonderful career. May he only gain more success and bigger roles!
The film is readily available on DVD both online and in video stores.
Read on to see if you spotted Jeff correctly in his very first scene!
