NEWS
• Jeff has a small voice-only cameo as a frustrated 911 operator in Stuck, Stuart Gordon’s latest thriller. Even though the scene is fleeting, it’s still wonderful to have Jeff back on the big screen!
The story follows a young nurse (Mena Suvari) who accidentally hits a homeless man (Stephen Rea) and instead of taking him to the emergency room, chooses to leave him trapped in her windshield.
Stuck is now playing in limited theatrical release. Click here for locations.

• Back in April, director Ryan Schifrin provided us with some great exclusive info that Jeff will play a major part in the sequel to his fun sasquatch horror movie, Abominable! Jeff is returning as the loveable Buddy along with fellow ’squatch survivor, Matt McCoy.
Larry Hama, screenwriter of the recently announced sequel was recently interviewed by CHUD and also mentioned a new female character and a military team that will be battling the rampant beasts.
Here’s hoping Buddy gets his revenge on the ’squatch that left him for dead!

• Jeff’s upcoming film Big Sky is now in pre-production and will hopefully start shooting by the summer or sometime early next year. He will be playing Kevin Meselet, a hardened rancher with a comic edge. This is a very different role for Jeff. Let’s hope this helps him get the recognition he deserves as the wonderful and diverse actor he is!

• In a recent interview with FearNet, Stuart Gordon spoke on the fate of his idea for a Bush-related House of Re-Animator film, saying that he was having second thoughts about the film revolving around the current presidency as the story may become outdated rather quickly. Here’s hoping this will help spark new ideas for a future Re-Animator film! For some thoughts on the possible future of the franchise see this post.

• There was a rumor posted last month at ShockTilYouDrop that said Jeff would have a central role in a pre-quel based on the earlier years of his character, Dr. Richard Benjamin Vannacutt from House on Haunted Hill and Return to House on Haunted Hill. A film with Vannacutt playing a more central role was first mentioned last year, when the possible title was The Revenge of Vannacutt.
Jeff has not heard anything about this project, so unfortunately at this point, it’s just a rumor. The article has since been removed from the site.

• Jeff’s film Urgency, (originally titled Fast Track) in which he plays Sumner Cavic, the main character’s curious next door neighbor, is now deep in post production. The director, Kantz has told me that he’s very pleased with how the film is turning out and will have more news for us soon!

OTHER NEWS
• Popular comic series, Hack/Slash will be publishing three crossover comics starting in August (issues #15-17) in which main character Cassie Hack will interact with Jeff as Herbert West from Re-Animator! This is the first ever Re-Animator crossover endorsed by producer and director Brian Yuzna, who was involved in all three of the Re-Animator films.
The storyline will tie Cassie and her father’s history to Herbert West. More details here. You can view the two collectible covers of Issue #15 here and here.
Yuzna mentions in a more recent interview that he is now in the process of developing both Re-Animator and Bride of Re-Animator into comic books and is also interested in telling the story of what happened between the two films. He expresses he’s still interested in doing a new Re-Animator film trilogy first mentioned in 2006 that includes House of Re-Animator, Re-Animator Unbound, and Re-Animator Begins. Here’s hoping we get some sort of new Re-Animator movie with Jeff sometime in the near future!
