• Jeff has just wrapped filming Dark House, a new thriller by Darin Scott. He plays Walston Rey, an impresario who turns a foster home with a bloody past into a haunted house attraction. When a young woman and her acting students are hired to perform in Rey’s show, a new string of grisly murders begins and we discover the house may truly be haunted!
Jeff has appeared in several other projects for Scott, including Caught Up, Love and a .45, and the upcoming adaptation of the graphic novel, The Night Driver.

• Stuart Gordon will start filming his new adaptation of Lovecraft’s story, The Thing on the Doorstep this fall. The cast has not been announced yet, but ever since I first read the story, I’ve thought Jeff would be ideal as the narrator, Daniel Upton.
I recently received this interesting reply from Gordon on the subject:
“I’m glad you enjoyed STUCK. And it was fun (as always) to work with Jeffrey.
As far as THING ON THE DOORSTEP is concerned, it’s a little too early to know if he’ll be appearing in the film as we’ve only just begun casting. But it’s hard to imagine a Lovecraft film without him.”
I wholeheartedly agree! More possible details soon if Jeff has any involvement in this adaptation.

Jeff has a small voice-only cameo in Gordon’s new thriller, Stuck which will be screened at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal and will come out on DVD October 7. Even though the scene is fleeting, it’s still wonderful to have Jeff in this film!

• The website for Jeff’s film Parasomnia in which he plays suicidal cop Detective Garrett has recently been updated and looks incredibly cool! The site features a newly recut trailer that makes the film look even more fantastic! (Warning: some graphic scenes). Click here for more details from director William Malone we got back in March.

• Writer/director Ryan Schifrin was recently at the Saturn Awards and was interviewed by Sci-Fi Channel. He mentioned his upcoming sequel to Abominable in which Jeff will reprise his role as Buddy, the quirky convenience store clerk. Schifrin also had these wonderful words to say about Jeff:
“I saw Re-Animator a hundred times when I was young, it was one of my favorite films, I watched it over and over. Anyone you meet that you watched as a little kid, you’re going to put on a pedestal. So when I first met him, I was really nervous. Because he was Jeffrey Combs, you know, it was a huge thing. When you’re working with him, every take is gold. He does something a little different every time and it’s just like…you’re watching genius there. It’s hard to pick which takes to use.”

• Jeff’s film Big Sky in which he plays hardened rancher Kevin Meselet in a film adaptation of Robert Tobin’s popular play, “Western Big Sky,” will begin shooting sometime early next spring in Montana. This is one of the roles I’m really looking forward to seeing Jeff play. It’s a great chance for him to show what a wonderful and diverse actor he is!
