I’ve received some great feedback on Jeff’s appearance at the recent MCM Expo in London. He was in very high spirits and had an absolute blast! I’m so pleased for all the fans who got a chance to meet him and for Jeff himself. :D

There were also various reports of a 4400 vs Eureka “war” that went on with great merriment all weekend. Sounds like a great time was had by all! :)

Many thanks go to: Catherine, Sarah, Jayne, Rachel, and Steve for their wonderful reports and photos!

If anyone wants to add their memories or photos to this post, please email me at darias_diner@yahoo.com

And don’t forget - Jeff is at the Full Moon Horror Convention in Little Rock, AR this weekend and then at the Orlando Sci-Fi Expo next weekend! More info on those cons here

Here are Catherine’s thoughts on meeting Jeff for the first time:

I’d never met Jeffrey before and was really excited but also ridiculously nervous. I knew he was supposed to be really friendly and that just made it worse because I knew if I didn’t say anything I’d probably regret it. It turned out to be amazing! He was such a welcoming guy and was really relaxed, unlike some guests I’ve met before. He shook my hand and we had a bit of chat. He wrote ‘Birth is always painful’ on my photo and signed it with HWest at the bottom. I asked if I could give him something and he was more than happy. I gave him a print-out of a blog from Empire about Milton Dammers. He seemed really pleased with it and said he looked forward to reading it. I hope he did! I later did the photo shoot which was great too, everyone seemed to be in high spirits. I really hope I get to meet him again because I feel I didn’t really say anything about Re-Animator or From Beyond…or anything actually! A truly great experience and a great guy!

Here is Sarah’s report from the con:

Jeff and fellow “4400″ castmate Billy Campbell - photo by Sarah

This was my first (but hopefully not last!) time meeting Jeff so I was insanely excited!!! After queueing for what seemed like forever, I got in and headed straight for his table! He was at a table with other 4400 people, Jordan Collier, Diana Skouris and Marco; the people in the autograph queue were mainly going to Jeff though! They were all joking with each other at the table which was cool. When I went for my autograph I was too nervous to say anything except “hello” and “I love Weyoun” as he signed the picture! Ah well, he said he liked my nails :D.

The [4400] panel was very cool :D. Jeff seemed to be leading them, it took the other three a while to warm up. They got hijacked by the Eureka people for a while hehe, who were watching it. They started mock-insulting each other’s shows which was very entertaining! I couldn’t hear most of the questions asked but loads of them were directed at Jeff. So that’s about it except to say that Jeff was lovely and that my autograph is now on the wall in the living room :D. Hopefully I’ll get to meet him again and that I’ll be less nervous and so be able to ask him some questions!

Another Con Report!

Jayne just sent me this report tonight about her and her two daughters’ wonderful experiences with Jeff at the con. For you non-readers, it’s a bit long ;), but it’s so lovely and shows what a sweetheart Jeff is to his fans (as I know firsthand as well!), that I wanted to publish it in its (almost!) entirety.

Thank you so much to Jayne for the report (and the kudos!) Glad you had such a lovely time. It pleases me to no end that the blog helped you know Jeff would be at the con! :)

Here are Jayne’s experiences:

I went to the London MCM Expo with my two young daughters, Alyssa and Natasha, aged 11 and 12, and my older son.  We arrived on Saturday afternoon and queued for an hour and a half for tickets.  The great atmosphere and energy made the queuing time race by, and we Brits do love our queues!

Alyssa and I wanted an official photo with Jeff (Natasha is just getting to that embarrassed age) but we found his slot had already passed.  We were told he would be doing another on the Sunday, so we headed off to the autograph table to check out where they were based.  We decided to spread out our Jeff meetings over the weekend, so the girls went first for a signed photo.  We were given the tip to wait til the Heroes panel were doing their Q&A session, so the 4400 table would be emptier.  Jeff was lovely to both of the girls and seemed particularly pleased when Alyssa offered her hand for him to shake!  Jacqui was also very friendly and asked where we had come from.  When we told her we were from Nottingham, Jeff and Jacqui made a joke about the Sheriff.  I was a bit overwhelmed to say much to Jeff at that stage, and he probably thought I was just a dutiful mother accompanying her children, not realising I was the biggest fan in the family - although after meeting Jeff, Alyssa has relegated me to second place!

On the Sunday, we were in early to check out the times for the official photos.  Alyssa and I had two photos with Jeff.  He seemed to recognise her from the day before and after the photo he gave her a lovely hug and kiss on the forehead. I then had a bout of teenage regression when I heard the words “Aw, don’t I get one of those?” and realised I had said them.  Jeff was so lovely and said “Oh, of course you do!” and gave me a peck on the cheek! (sorry Jeff - you didn’t get much choice in the matter!)  I will try and behave much better next time - Natasha said I was behaving like a teenager!  She then said she wished she’d been in the photo.  Next time!

Soon after, we went to the Sunday 4400 panel Q&A session, which was very entertaining.  As Sarah has already reported, the Eureka panel gatecrashed the party, which was very amusing!  Billy had to leave early and was replaced by a coatstand with a T-shirt and large headshot photo, which Jeff and Jacqui stood on either side of.  Jeff was very patient with the first person to ask a question, who asked the excruciating question:  ”I’ve never seen your show - can you tell me what it’s about?”  And they did just that.  When asked what period in time they would like to go back to, Jeff replied that he would like to go back to the USA in the early 1600s.  In response to a question about spare time on the set, Jeff said that he likes to read if he gets any spare time.  The panel said it hadn’t yet been confirmed whether they were going to get a 5th season of the 4400, but obviously they want there to be one.  When asked what progression he would like to see for the character of Kevin, Jeff joked he would like to see Kevin flying around in a cape with a large ‘B’ on his chest!

Alyssa was delighted because when Jeff saw her at the table again, he said “Hi Alyssa!”  He totally made her weekend!

Bonus “Blast From The Past” Con Footage

Frank Volzer, who was the organizer of the Nexus Convention 2000 in Germany has just put some wonderful video of Jeff up on YouTube. Just like this UK MCM Expo, Jeff had an absolute blast at Nexus as well. :)

Check out Jeff’s wonderful Q&A session here and the incredibly hilarious Nexus Funclip where Jeff cavorts with Attic Expeditions co-star Ted Raimi. I absolutely love these videos! Thanks, Frank! :)
