Giving Thanks

Today, at least here in the U.S., we are giving thanks for many things. This being the blog for the official Jeffrey Combs site, I thought I’d take the opportunity to thank the man who has given us so much to appreciate.
Thanks Jeff, for being so wonderful to your fans and for being so patient and sweet to all of us. Thank you for your amazing work and for your drive to always challenge yourself (and your audience) with new ways of seeing you. Thank you for your dedication to the craft for which you have such a natural talent. Thank you for just being you.
Looking through my collection, I found a wonderful quote from Jeff talking about his thoughts on acting that I wanted to share especially today:
“I think that therein lies the essence of what I try to do also. I try to lean forward. I look at this material and go, “What can I do to make this breathe? What can I do that makes this not just me standing on a mark and saying lines and collecting a paycheck?” I’m really not interested in that. I’m interested in bringing it alive. And entertaining. I mean, we can’t take ourselves too seriously and we can’t sit back. That’s why I do what I do, ultimately - to entertain, hopefully enlighten and make people feel things in the dark. That’s really all it is. It’s just stories around the campfire.”
